My healthy eating Friday

Green banana123

Hey people! I hope all my readers are okay and in good spirits? I’m doing good, it’s Friday and I’m super excited because we have our public holiday commencing over here. It’s a good time of year to get all those extra things done in a timely manner, well at least I find that to be the case.

Anyway, today I wanted to share what I’m eating for breakfast, as you can see from the picture above, I’m consuming some green banana porridge. This is traditionally a Caribbean (Jamaican) porridge which is very filling and nutritious. I find myself turning to this whenever I’m in need of an energy boast, something that leaves me complete with high amounts of energy to sustain me for a long period of time.

I know what you’re thinking OMG she’s eating an unripe banana? correct? YUP banana greens are often eaten this way in the tropics, it’s an island staple and something I was brought up on as a young girl, ultimately you’re observing a small sample of a culture delicacy. In fact drinking green banana porridge is no different from oatmeal again, this porridge seems to be a favourite amongst the western hemisphere.

Without revealing too much I made this recipe in a non-traditional way, which caters to dietary specific needs without compromising the taste.

Stay tuned and I subsequently share this tasty recipe with you within the next few days.

Before I sign off, I’d love to know what you’re eating today? please do share your wonderful breakfast.
