Lemon Pepper Air Fried Asparagus

Delicious asparagus tips are air fried to perfection and then seasoned and served.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh asparagus spears (500g) trimmed
  • 1-2 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon garlic granules
  • 2 tablespoon of sesame seeds
  • pink salt to taste
  • grated zest of 1 small lemon optional
  • olive oil or coconut oil, melted

Instructions

  • Start by trimming the woody ends (if required) and discarding them then rinsing the asparagus spears.
  • Blot the spears dry with kitchen towel.Brush the air fryer basket with oil.
  • .Place the asparagus spears in the basket spreading them out evenly.
  • Brush/spray the tips lightly with oil.Switch the unit on manually temperature 200c/400f for 8 minutes.
  • Once the asparagus is cooked remove and then garnish with lemon pepper seasoning, garlic granules, pink salt to taste, sesame seeds and optional lemon zest.

Notes

  • Make sure to use my homemade Lemon Pepper Seasoning to accompany this recipe
  • Make sure the asparagus woody ends are removed if need be. Some supermarkets sells the tips with the ends trimmed already (mine didn't need trimming).
  • Feel free to switch things up by using another homemade seasoning blend if you want to.
  • Store any leftovers in the refrigerator, simply re-heat, garnish and eat within 2 days.
  • You may need to cook the asparagus spears in batches depending on the size/capacity of your air fryer.
