Ingredients

  • ¾ cup hulled/shelled hemp seeds (150g)(known as hemp hearts)
  • 4 cups filtered water (946ml)

For optional ad ins

  • 2 dates pitted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (4g)
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (0.5g)
  • 1 tablespoon matcha (15g)

Instructions

  • Add the hemp seeds (hearts), water and any optional ad ins to your blender.
  • Put the lid on and blitz into a smooth consistency.
  • Use a cheese cloth of nut milk bag to strain the milk into a large bowl (this is an optional step, if you don't do this you may notice some of grit at the bottom when you bottle it).
  • Squeeze out any excess liquid
  • .Store the milk in a mason jar or jug in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Notes

  • I highly recommend using a high powered blender i.e a Blendtec or Vitamix.
  • You will need hulled/seeds or hemp which is also known as "hemp hearts" to make this milk.
  • If you choose not to strain the milk it is normal for segments to settle at the bottom.
  • If stored in a container/jar, shake before using the milk.
  • The hemp milk should keep for up to 5 days.
  • This milk is also suitable for home freezing.
  • For a creamier, more concentrated milk, use less water.
