Paprika Wings (Air Fryer)

Learn how to make delicious paprika wings using your air fryer. These wings are smokey, hot and sweet, so easy to make and great for lunch or a dinner idea.

Ingredients

  • 2-2½ lb chicken wings (900g-1.2kg)
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika (7g)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic granules (3g)
  • 1 teaspoon onion granules (2g)
  • 1 teaspoon parsley (5g)
  • 1 teaspoon thyme (2g)
  • ¼ teaspoon dried ginger (0.5g)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (2g)
  • teaspoon pink salt (9g)
  • ¼ teaspoon hot sauce (1g)
  • 1 tablespoon soya sauce (18g)
  • 2 tablespoon agave nectar (42g)
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil (42g)
  • water (if needed)

Instructions

  • Combine the smoked paprika, garlic granules, onion, granules, parsley, thyme, ginger, black pepper and pink salt in a small bowl.
  • In another bowl, add the agave nectar, soy(a) sauce, hot sauce and olive oil and mix.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients bowl to create a wet rub (add water, a tablespoon at a time, if needed to thin out the paste) .
  • Place the wings in a large ziplock/sealable bag then pour in the wet rub.
  • Seal the bag, then shake and massage the bag to thoroughly coat the wings.
  • Preheat the air fryer.
  • Remove the wings from the bag(reserve the residue from the bag) then place in the air fryer basket (you can put them on a liner if you want to). You may need to cook them in batches.
  • Air fry for 20 minutes at 190C/374F turning them over half way through.
  • 3 minutes before the finishing time, flip the wings over again and coat with the residue liquid from the bag.
  • Continue to air fry the wings for the remaining 3 minutes.

Notes

    • You can add more hot sauce or omit it altogther, if needed.
    • Serve the wings immediately or re-heat them in the air fryer so they become crispy again.
    • These wings are not freezer friendly.
    • Air fryers vary so temperature and cooking time may differ.
    • I used 2lb of chicken wings which serves up to 4 people.
    • You can leave the wings to rest/marinate overnight but it is okay to air fry them immediately.
