Learn how to make delicious paprika wings using your air fryer. These wings are smokey, hot and sweet, so easy to make and great for lunch or a dinner idea.

I don't know about you but I don't need an excuse to make chicken wings. However I do seem to indulge in them a bit more for chic flic nights/weekends.
Most people serve them on game day, but whatever the case, the nation just seem to love them.
Even though paprika isn't a Caribbean spice, I feel like to does play a central role in a lot of recipes especially for people who live in the dispora.
I personally like to add it to a lot of my recipes. A good example of this is my Breadfruit Fries and Goat Meat Bites.
Paprika a really sweet and peppery taste to it that adds depth to a lot of cuisines.
Today I'm going to share a really easy wings recipe with you. One that is really easy, not complicated and tastes amazing.
It doesn't require a lot of resting time (unless you choose to do so) nor does it contain any baking powder, flour or starch to yield crispiness.

Instead we are going back to basics, with a plethora of easy to obtain herbs and spices. Ones that I already use on the blog, so you won't need to search high and low for them.
The recipe to hand is very simple; you combine the herbscand spices in a small bowl along with the olive oil, place the wings in a ziplock bag, along with the wet rub then seal and shake it.
Then air fry the wings, it's that simple!
Told you it was simple/easy, didn't I?
The steps

- Combine the smoked paprika, garlic granules, onion, granules, parsley, thyme, ginger, black pepper and pink salt in a small bowl.
- In another bowl, add the agave nectar, soy(a) sauce, hot sauce and olive oil and mix.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients bowl to create a wet rub (add water, a tablespoon at a time, if needed to thin out the paste) .
- Place the wings in a large ziplock/sealable bag then pour in the wet rub.
- Seal the bag, then shake and massage the bag to thoroughly coat the wings.
- Preheat the air fryer.

- Remove the wings from the bag (reserve the residue from the bag) then place in the air fryer basket (you can put them on a liner if you want to). You may need to cook them in batches.
- Air fry for 20 minutes at 190C/374F turning them over half way through.
- 3 minutes before the finishing time, flip the wings over again and coat with the residue liquid from the bag.
- Continue to air fry the wings for the remaining 3 minutes.
Notes and tips
- Make sure to wash and dry the chicken as per Caribbean tradition - lemon/lime with vinegar.
- You can add more hot sauce or omit it altogther, if needed.
- Serve the wings immediately or re-heat them in the air fryer so they become crispy again.
- These wings are not freezer friendly.
- Air fryers vary so temperature and cooking time may differ.
- I used 2lb of chicken wings which serves up to 4 people.
- You can leave the wings to rest/marinate overnight but it is okay to air fry them immediately.

Smoked paprika is such a great flavour with chicken and I can see myself making this with chicken thighs too as the wet rub is so good.
