Ginger Turmeric Shot Recipe

Learn how to make some turmeric shots infused with fresh lime, ginger, fresh orange, black pepper, extra virgin olive oil with an optional hint of sweetener without having to rely on using a juicer.

Ingredients

  • 2 1 inch turmeric root peeled
  • 1 inch fresh ginger peeled
  • 2-3 fresh oranges peeled and chopped
  • 1 lime peeled and chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon coarse black pepper (0.5g)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (14g)
  • 1-1½ cup water (355ml)
  • 2 tablespoon maple syrup (40g) optional

Instructions

  • Place the turmeric root (add the ground turmeric if you are using that instead), ginger, orange, lime, black pepper, extra virgin olive oil and sweetener (if you are using) and water to a blender
  • .Blitz to make a smooth consistency.
  • Strain the mixture in a fine mesh sieve or use a cheesecloth to extract the juice.
  • Pour the juice into shot glasses/bottles.

Notes

  • Any leftover pulp and be frozen in a ice cube tray and/or used in a drink or smoothie i.e Orange Pineapple Banana Smoothie
  • For best results, please use fresh ingredients where possible for a higher quality/potent taste.
  • These shots can be taken on a daily basis.
  • The amount of shots will vary depending on the size of your glass. I made a total of 6 (2oz/60m) capacity.
  • Any leftover shots should be stored in secured bottles and refrigerated for up to 5 days. This is to ensure maximum potency, less the chances of the compounds breaking down
  • Feel free to jazz things up by adding apples, mango, pears, peaches, pineapple, cayenne, virgin coconut oil and so fourth.
