During lent and Easter, more specifically Good Friday, many people who are religious (Christians/Catholics) will be abstaining from eating meat.
Now seems like the perfect time to showcase some of my top Caribbean themed fish recipes that I think you will like.
There's some classics in there such as Brown Stew Fish, Jamaican Steamed Fish along with some recipes that I have put a creative spin on such as my Saltfish Turn Cornmeal.

One of the most popular ways to prepare fish Caribbean style. Cooked in a rich spicy gravy that you simply cannot get enough of.
Salt Fish and Okra
This delicious dish is made by combining mouth watering herbs and spices. Salt fish tenderly cooked to simply compliment the okra and bringing out the full flavour
Salt Fish Buljol
This tantalising Trinidadian dish is low carb and brilliant for keto followers.
A side serving of avocado alongside tasty, succulent bite size pieces of fish seasoned and combined with tomato, bell peppers, onion and garlic.
Salt Fish Fritters
A favourite Caribbean appetizer. Cod lightly fried and encased in a crispy golden batter with peppers and seasoned with a tender centre.

A hearty Caribbean family favourite meal. Seasoned cabbage steamed then combined with tender pieces of Salt Fish sautéed with onion, garlic, tomato.

A Caribbean traditional and favourite fish dish. Pan fried fish with a flavoursome topping of peppers and onions in a vinaigrette dressing.

Crispy Oven Baked Prawn Fritters
These prawn fritters, are the big sister to Saltfish fritters, crispy and made in the oven, meaning very little oil has been used.

This fish dish is a classic for many Jamaicans, served with water crackers (not gluten free) and bammy on the side.

Pairing my homemade saltfish with callaloo, this salted flaked fish with iron enriched leafy greens is the perfect way combination for callaloo lovers.
Not in the mood for fried/steamed fish? Not problem then this low carb prawn (shrimp) soup is a great alternative and packed with vegetables. This is one of many healthy options.

Pan Fried Garlic Butter Shrimp
This recipe is for the garlic lovers out there, shrimp that has been pan fried in a garlicky butter sauce served with some mashed yam.
Without sounding biased (maybe I am) this recipe is one of my favourite fish dishes.
It's a combination of Caribbean and touch of Indian flavours, where lightly seasoned coconut milk is simmered until it thickens then pan-fried cod pieces are added to lock in all that flavour.
