Introduction

Refreshing is the most appropriate word at this time.

If you are looking for a tall glass of goodness that is guaranteed to elevate your hydration game then this flavoured water is for you.

The beverage is so crisp and cool, it is the type of fruit infused drink that is guaranteed to quench your thirst.

Whether you need to cool down from a boiling hot day, in need of a top up after an intense workout at the gym or want something to sip on after a long day.

This water will be your go to, because it's incredibly easy to make and you only need a few ingredients and less than 15 minutes to prepare this beverage from scratch.

Ingredients you will need

Ingredients you will need for Mint Lime Drink

  • Limes - Use fresh lime slices as well as the juice of 2 limes to flavour the water.
  • Water - Use ice cold filtered water.
  • Sweetener of your choice - Agave, nectar, dates etc... this is optional.
  • Ice Cubes - Whole or crushed ice cubes to add that extra chill factor.
  • Mint Leaves - You will want to use fresh mint leaves to enhance the flavour of the water.

The steps

steps1-4 adding the mint leaves and lime and water

  • Place the slices of lime and sprigs of mint into a glass pitcher (jug).
  • Pour the lime juice, water and sweetener of your choice (if using) into your blender and pulse.
  • Add the ice cubes and pulse for 10 seconds, you want the ice to crush not blend completely, just a few seconds are suffice to do so, depending on the speed of the blender.
steps5-8 blitzing the water

  • Transfer the ice water into the pitcher.
  • Serve immediately or for a deeper flavour leave to rest for up to 30 minutes then serve.

Notes and tips

  • Adding any type of sweetener is an optional step, you don't have to if you don't want to.
  • You can double or triple the batch if you want and keep it refrigerated for a few days.
  • Feel free to add some cucumbers to the water.
  • Additional mint leaves and lime will fully enhance the fruit/mint flavour.
  • You DO NOT have to crush the ice in the blender. You are more than welcome to distribute the ice cubes into separate glasses.
  • Top up. Once the water has been drunk, feel free to top up the pitcher with more water and a squeeze of time.

This sounds perfectly refreshing. I love that it uses dates too.

It is indeed. The dates offer a slight hint of sweetness, certainly not overpowering though.
