Introduction
If you’re craving something naturally sweet, refreshing, and incredibly simple to make, this tropical fruit salad ticks all the boxes.
Bursting with tropical flavour and loaded with nothing but pure goodness, this colourful salad consists of fresh kiwi, pineapple, mango, watermelon and papaya.
I wanted to add a lot more tropical themed fruit to this beautiful salad but when you are living the the dispora either the availability is limited or the cost of the fruit is simply too expensive.
However, despite these limitations with every bite you will feel like you've immediately transported to the Caribbean.
Reasons to make this salad
- The salad will be ready in under 20 minutes
- Naturally vegan and gluten free
- Very easy to prepare
- Perfect to consume at home or transport with i.e on errands, work, gym etc...
- Great to meal prep for brunch, bbq or as a snack
- A great additional to a Caribbean themed meal
Ingredients you will need

- As you can see from the above picture, I'm using a combination of 5 different types of fruit. You will need fruit that is fresh and not frozen to make your fruit salad.
The steps

- Add all of the fruit to a large bowl.
- Gently mix all everything together using a large spoon or a spatula.
- Allow the salad to chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving (this is optional).
Notes and tips
- Make sure to thoroughly wash and peel the fruit ahead of time.
- Feel free to add additional ingredients such as fresh coconut pieces, guinep (chenette), starfruit, naseberry, hog plum, otaheite apple, golden apple (June plum) if you fortunate enough to have access to them.
- If you plan to add oxidatised fruit such as bananas/apples etc.. only add them when you plan to eventually serve/consume the salad.
- This salad is enough for up to 4 people.
- Any leftovers should be refrigerated and consumed within 2-3 days.
- You may want to keep the fruit with higher water content such as watermelon separate from the others and only adding when you are serving because it will release more liquid compared to the other fruit.
