Learn how to make this 4 ingredient smoothie using watermelon, raspberries, frozen banana and almond milk. Totally dairy free, vegan friendly and extremely simple to make from scratch.

It's been a while since I made a beverage recipe, to be exact a smoothie recipe so here is one for the road.
Watermelon smoothie is definitely a must try for the sizzling summertime. I always associate the fruit watermelon with the tropics.
Anyway, I had a huge batch of watermelon that I chopped into pieces and didn't know what to do with it aside from eating it.
I made it into a smoothie to which my loved ones really enjoyed it so I thought I would share it with you all.
So If you are looking for a smoothie that is relatively easy to make, refreshing with a summer time vibe to it which doesn't need a laundry list of ingredients, give this watermelon smoothie a try!
It's light, not too dense in texture, fruity and packed with an abundance of goodness. It's made with juicy watermelon, raspberries which gives it that tart edge, frozen banana for a hint of creamy sweetiness and almond milk to keep things plant based.
It's perfect to sip on a hot summers day, a post workout beverage with an extra scoop of protein or what I like to do which is drink it as a healthy on to go breakfast.
Ingredients you will need

- Almond milk - Any plant based milk will do, but I like to use almond milk because it is neutral in taste.
- Watermelon - The star of the show, the must have ingredient.
- Raspberries - I used fresh raspberries but you can always use frozen ones.
- Banana - This helps to counterbalance that tartness from the raspberries.
Watermelon benefits
Watermelon is extremely hydrating and this is due impart to its high water content and it is also low in calories.
Similar to a cucumber, these high water enriched foods help you to feel full which is a bonus if you are on a calorie deficit so if you are trying to loose weight then incorporate some watermelon into your lifestyle (source).
It is packed with so many vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, including vitamin A,C, potassium, magnesium just to name a few.
A lot of people who subscribe to the keto lifestyle incorporate watermelon into their lifestyle because of its low net carb, its made up of 92% of water and is the lowest carb fruit by far (7.5 carbs for every 100g)(source).
