The health benefits of apple cinnamon smoothie
Apples are sweet, tasty and loaded with an abundance of vitamin C – antioxidants which help to fight free radicals that cause damage to the cells.
Aside from their ability to tackle the nasties, that try to infiltrate our cells.
Apples are extremely filling and packed with fibre – assist with keeping blood sugar levels and bad cholesterol (low density lipoprotein is a good example) in moderation. Cinnamon works perfectly with this recipe as it too stablises blood sugar levels.
The insoluble fibre also regulates bowel movement, promoting healthy bowel activity and is particularly useful for anyone suffering from constipation.
You should make this apple cinnamon smoothie because………
- It contains no animal milk only plant based milk is used
- Free from banana
- Low in calories so great for aiding weightloss/good health
- You can be creative and add dairy free yoghurt for a silky texture
** For this recipe I namely used frozen ingredients (apples, ice cubes) as I found this yields a thicker consistency**
** Suitable as a meal replacement**
